High-pressure line cleaning

Hydro Jetting Portland

Snaking only buys you a few weeks? Jetting scours grease, scale and roots off the pipe walls so the line flows full again.

Beyond the snake

High-Pressure Cleaning for Clogged Sewer Lines

A cable snake punches a hole through a clog. Jetting sends water at high pressure through a nozzle that cuts forward and scrubs the full circumference of the pipe, washing sludge, scale and root masses down to the main.

It's the right tool for lines that keep slowing down, for small business kitchens, and as the first step before a liner goes in. Jetting is one part of what our sewer repair team handles; if the pipe turns out to be damaged, you'll get repair options too.

Check the pipe first

When Jetting Is Safe and When It Isn't

Jetting is safe for sound pipe, but water pressure can make a cracked or collapsing section worse. That's why we look at any line we haven't seen before we jet it.

If the problem is a break rather than buildup, cleaning won't fix it, and you won't be sold one that won't last.

What we clear

Sewer Line Jetting and Cleaning

Grease and sludge

Kitchen grease coats the pipe and narrows it a little more each month. Jetting strips it back to the pipe wall.

Root masses

Large street trees are common in older Portland neighborhoods, and their roots find every joint. Jetting cuts them out of the pipe; repairing the joint keeps them out.

Scale and buildup

Mineral scale and hardened buildup in older pipe are scoured off so the line runs at full size.

Debris and sediment

Sand, gravel and debris that settled in low spots are flushed down to the main.

Cost

What Jetting Costs

Hydro jetting a residential sewer line usually costs $350 to $800.

Heavy root growth or long commercial lines can reach about $1,000 or more. A full sewer scope on its own runs $150 to $400

From First Look to Clean Pipe

  1. Step01

    Check the line

We make sure the pipe is sound enough to jet.

  2. Step02

    Choose the nozzle

We pick the nozzle for grease, scale or roots and set the pressure for the pipe material.

  3. Step03

    Jet the line

The hose works from the cleanout toward the main, cleaning as it goes and flushing debris out.

  4. Step04

    Confirm the flow

We run water through the line to make sure it drains at full speed.

Jetting Questions

How often should a line be jetted?

Only as often as it needs. Busy commercial kitchens may need it on a schedule; most homes only when buildup returns.

Will jetting damage my pipes?

Not sound pipes. It can worsen a cracked or collapsing section, which is why we check first.

Is jetting better than snaking?

For buildup along the pipe walls, yes. A snake opens a path; jetting cleans the whole pipe.

Do you jet commercial lines?

Yes, for small businesses as well as homes.
